User guide

DISCOS is a project that embraces the  control software for SRT, Medicina and Noto radio telescope. The implementation at the SRT is called DISCOS-NURAGHE.

Observing strategies:

DISCOS allows the following observing strategies:

• on-the-fly mapping
• sidereal tracking
• positon switching

The data are recorded in a fits-based (DISCOS-FITS) format. On request, by means offline converters are available also the following data format:

• SDFITS
• GILDAS/CLASS for spectral line observations
